Blues drummer with great feel wanted
I'm a blues singer/frontman/harmonica/guitar player with loads of gigging and recording experience with several well-established bands over the past 30-odd years. I'm already involved with two pretty well-reckoned bands on the UK blues scene, but neither is gigging enough for my liking. Having recently given up the day job, I'm looking for committed, experienced collaborators who'll motivate me to start a fresh project with which to write, record and gig all over the UK and probably beyond.
It'll definitely be blues-based, though beyond that, I'm open to suggestions. It won't be blues-rock though - I really fancy the idea of a band strongly centred around great Hammond sounds, with a terrific groove and a strong sense of dynamics.
The kind of rhythm section I'm looking for will have great feel, an amazing sense of dynamics with an appreciation for the less-is-more ethos of bands like the Meters and the swing and swagger of the classic Chicago blues bands of the 50s.
I have good gear, including a 3.3kw PA with a digital desk and a book full or gig contacts who generally return my calls.
Oh, and I'm currently in the process of building a new recording studio, so rehearsal and recording won't be a problem...
If any of this is of interest, let's talk!
