How do we collect your data from you
When you sign up, we collect information to build a basic account. Once you have an account you have full access to the website enabling you to, among other things, add classified posts and message other users. We also collect data when you post or reply to a classified post.
What type of information is collected from you?
Information to create your account such as an email address, username, postcode and password. Classified posts and replies to classified posts are stored. IP addresses and failed login attempts are sometimes stored for debugging purposes. Demographic data may be collected to help us work out the main groups of people that use this site. This includes sex, approximate age, possible interests and approximate location.
How is your data used
Your information may be used when creating or replying to a classified post, posting to the forum or replying to another user through the internal messaging system.
Who has access to your information:
We do not sell or rent your information to third parties. The only time we would share information is when required to do so by law, for example a court order or for the purposes of crime prevention.
How can you access and update your information
You can easily update your username, email address, post code and password from the ‘My Account’ section of the site. If you decide to leave Bandonkers, you can delete your account permanently from here as well. It’s also possible to edit any live advertisements. If there is anything you have difficulty updating, let us know and we'll see whether we can help.
How we protect against the loss, misuse or unauthorised alteration of your information
When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. All passwords stored on our servers are encrypted for your safety.
Information transmitted normally over the Internet can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. Where you have chosen a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Children and Privacy
You must be 16 years of age or over to use Bandonkers. If you are 16 or 17 years of age, you must get consent from a parent or guardian to use Bandonkers. This is for your own safety.
Bandonkers will send you an email if another user has sent you an internal message on the site. This is only to let you know you have a message waiting for you.
Always be wary when meeting new people you have found on Bandonkers or any other website. When meeting new people follow these basic guidelines:-
- Arrange to meet up in a public place.
- Take an adult or trustworthy friend with you.
- Do not disclose your address.
Our web site may also use a web site session recording service. Bandonkers liaise with Google and Hotjar who have developed products that are capable of recording mouse clicks, mouse movements, page scrolling and any text keyed into website forms. The information collected does not include bank details or any sensitive personal data. Anonymised session data generated during such visits may be used for aggregated and statistical reporting by Google and Hotjar.
