I’m Ally, a lyricist/vocalist based in Edinburgh. I’m interested in putting a new band together and looking for folks who might be interested. I’ve plenty of experience playing various genres (although haven’t been in a band for a few years as I’ve been focusing on other parts of my life) and literally dozens of lyric ideas sitting ready to go.
I wouldn’t say thinking of any genre in particular right now as my preferred thing to do is get a bunch of weirdos and misfits in a room and see if we can get something cool and weird to come out. The sort of genres I like, though, are post-punk, noise rock, art/avant-punk, stoner rock, shoegaze, grunge. That kind of stuff. Part of me likes the idea of maybe having two guitars- one that is sort of raw and noise rock-y and another which is ‘massive shoegazey pedal board’-y. Maybe with a little bit of overdrive on the vocals?
