Bass player (penrith) looking to form or join an originals

Bass player, early 50s, based in Penrith, looking to get a band together or join an existing one. Originals only, please nothing against anyone who enjoys covers, it's just not for me. Writing our own material is the whole point as far as I'm concerned.

I've been playing since I was 13, though I'll be upfront: I had a few years away from it recently, so I'm shaking off a bit of rust. It's coming back quickly, and what hasn't gone anywhere is the ear, the feel, and the love of a good groove.

Influence-wise, my heart is in progressive metal and the darker end of alternative Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Kolm, that sort of territory. That said, I listen to pretty much everything, and I'm not looking to build a tribute to anyone. I'd rather we find our own sound.

I have my own gear and my own transport. Penrith based, so Carlisle, Kendal, the Eden Valley and anywhere within reasonable reach of Cumbria works for me and for the right project I'd stretch further.

In terms of commitment, I'm open. Happy to start with relaxed writing and jamming sessions and see where it goes if it clicks and we end up gigging and recording, even better.
