maybe start a band?

Music fan with drumming experience (includes Djembe)
I'm looking to meet likeminded music players/ fans to form a unique 2 or 3 piece.
My idea is to pick 6-10 songs to start with & try to play in acoustic,simplified original styles(?)
Keen guitarist,keyboard player wanted to go forward with this idea.
I've listened to a fair bit of music...Rock,Soul,Reggae,other...from 70's- present day.
Fav. at moment apart from usuals = The shins,Leon Bridges,My Morning Jacket,Ghostpoet,Sunflower Bean,Yak,Blossoms,
