Trying to put a band together

Looking to do stuff in a similar vein to the Brian Jonestown massacre in regards to getting a rabble of players together, acoustic and electric welcome Ideally you'll have a love of folk, psychedelic and garage rock music, leaning toward the late 60s and 70s but playing songs for today and tomorrow.

Obviously good solid players wanted, of course you don't need to be a virtuoso, but you'll need to be gig ready, have your own gear, understand the process of songwriting and be ready to record as soon as we have our material..

I play the guitar, write words and sing so I am happy to write the songs, I just need people who are willing to write their own parts, but songwriters are also welcome to suggest ideas and even whole songs.

Ideally the music will be very much rooted in folk and old garage but some blues, psyche, and jazz elements can and most likely will creep in..

Most importantly I want people that want to work hard and bring a good amount of energy with them, I myself am quite an easy going person and easy to get along with, so I'm really looking for a band of people than will enjoy playing together, work on their parts in between rehearsals and be pro active in promoting the group via social media (I don't do social media so it's ideal if you do)

Ultimately the members will dictate the direction the sound goes in, and I'm very much open to unusual instruments what ever they may be, percussionists also very desirable, especially tambourine players

Once a week minimum rehearsal, ideally on the same day and time each week

I'm in the process of putting a few songs together, but for starters we will arrange a few covers in advance to jam in the rehearsal room to see how we get on if I don't have demos ready yet

Says 35 - 44 but if you're a drummer who's 30 up get in touch

I can't stress this enough, I've had a lot of time wasters in the past, please only contact me if you're ready to get a jam going in the very near future, ideally a week from first contact, I like to keep the energy up, and really start as we mean to go on

I'm open to catching a coffee or a pint to talk about things before hand also if preferred

Thanks for reading and if this sounds like it's for you, I look forward to meeting and playing some music together soon

Peace
